Krav Foundations in Gilbert, AZ is the beginner on-ramp for teens and adults with little or no martial arts experience. Learn awareness, movement, striking, and common defenses one step at a time.
You do not need experience, and you do not need to get fit first. A coach shows you the movement, pairs you with a partner who is looking out for you, and lets the pressure build only as your skill does. Taught under Coach Joe, a 4th-degree Krav Maga black belt under GM Itay Gil.
Krav Foundations exists because the first day is the hardest one to show up for. It is structured for people who have never trained: a smaller set of skills, taught in order, with a coach who will know your name before you leave.
There is no gi to buy and no assumption that you already know how to stand or throw a strike. You can start at zero and build from there. You will be shown, you will drill it with a partner who is looking out for you, and you will leave having actually done it.
You do not need experience, a uniform, perfect fitness, or confidence before your first class. Show up in clothes you can move in. We will help with the rest.
Notice problems earlier and create better options. The best outcome is the one you saw coming and stepped away from.
Stay on your feet and move with purpose. Every technique you learn later starts with how you stand and how you move.
Build a small set of reliable strikes with sound mechanics: straight punches, elbows, and knees, drilled until they feel natural.
Learn simple responses to the grabs and chokes people actually run into, create space, and get away.
Athletic clothes and water. No uniform, nothing to buy, and no experience required to walk in the door.
A coach walks you through the warm-up, shows you the day's skill, and pairs you appropriately.
Learn one or two core skills, drill them progressively, and leave knowing exactly what to work on next.
You do not need to feel confident before you walk in. Confidence is something the training gives you a chance to earn.
